The board meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 5:30pm in the GICS cafeteria

The Interim Board of Directors for Green Isle Community School includes:

Holly Harjes
Holly Harjes taught sixth grade in the Burnsville Public Schools for ten years, served for five years on the Sibley East School Board, and for fourteen years has substitute taught in preschool – grade twelve. She is self-employed as a farmer and currently serves as one of the founding developers of Green Isle Community School. Her previous service on a public school board will provide critical background as GICS’s Interim Board becomes established. In addition to serving as a member of the Interim Board, it is Holly’s intention to serve GICS long-term as a volunteer, substitute teacher, and community resource person.

Rosemary Vos
Rosemary Vos resides with her family in Green Isle where she serves as one of the founding developers of Green Isle Community School. Previously serving as a teacher’s aide and a health paraprofessional at the elementary school level, she is currently a Certified Medical Assistant at a pediatric clinic. Rosemary enjoys working with community members of all ages and she looks forward to providing vital support to GICS as a member of the its Interim Board of Directors. She has a strong commitment to serving the school well into the future.

Darrell Grams -
Darrell Grams retired to the Green Isle area four years ago after successfully founding and operating an intensive out patient chemical dependency treatment program. His experiences with program development and policy writing will prove valuable to Green Isle Community School as he assumes his role on the Interim Board of Directors. After the first community information meeting, Darrell stepped forward to serve as a founding member of Green Isle Community School’s development group. He is keenly aware of the importance of reaching out to new residents as they come to know GICS as a community organization that brings people together and he is eager to be an active part of ensuring that it happens.
